Enroll & Train
Once approved, you enroll in your chosen program. Classes are in-person or hybrid, with evening and weekend options.
- Program length varies: EKG and Phlebotomy run 4–6 weeks; CNA is 8 weeks; PCT is 12 weeks; EMT is 16 weeks; AEMT-Cardiac is about 6 months; Paramedic is 12–18 months.
- Evening, weekend, and hybrid schedules are built for people balancing work or family — you don't have to leave your current job to train for a new one.
- Tuition, materials, and fees are covered by grant funding. You pay $0.
Get Certified & Placed
Complete your program, earn your certification, and connect with our employer network for direct job placement support.
- Earn a nationally recognized credential — CNA (RI State License), Phlebotomy and EKG Technician, NREMT, or AHA BLS/ACLS/PALS, depending on your program.
- RIEC actively connects graduates with hiring partners across Rhode Island healthcare.
- Support includes resume help, interview prep, and direct employer referrals — the goal is placement, not just certification.
Before You Apply
What You'll Need
Proof of RI Residency
A utility bill, lease agreement, or government-issued ID showing your Rhode Island address.
Household Income Info
Used to confirm grant eligibility — most working adults and moderate-income households qualify.
U.S. Work Authorization
You must be authorized to work in the United States and intend to seek employment in RI healthcare.
HS Diploma or GED
Required for most programs. RIEC staff can connect you with GED support if you need it before enrolling.
